GRADING (VERY IMPORTANT)
Empire Coin Trading cc‘s coins are graded by N.G.C. (Numismatic Guarantee Corporation of America) and P.C.G.S. (Professional Coin Grading Services). Both are independent 3rd party grading companies and grades over 30 countries coins worldwide on a daily basis.
The following factors are excluded before a coin is graded:
It is not an ex-mount (Set in jewellery)
The coin has not been cleaned.
It is not a forgery.
Should one of the above be the case, the coin will not be graded and is worth only its metal content e.g. gold/silver. Coins are graded in a very strict clinical environment. They are then given a grade based on the beauty of design, etc. The highest grade a coin can achieve is Proof, and then comes Mint State (MS), Almost Uncirculated (AU), Extremely Fine (EF), Fine (F), Very Fine (VF). The coin is then placed in a tamper proof plastic capsule with a serial no. This is an assurance that the coin is genuine. Forgeries are done very well these days. Rare coins that are graded also duplicates in value and in some cases, triplicates.
